We perform professional blower door tests for homeowners, contractors, and new construction across Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties. MiHER accepted. BPI certified.
A blower door test is the standard diagnostic method for measuring residential air leakage. We mount a calibrated fan in your front door, depressurize the home to 50 Pascals of pressure, and measure the airflow required to maintain that pressure. The result is your home's CFM50 — cubic feet per minute at 50 Pascals.
When used with our infrared camera during the test, the pressure difference makes air movement visible — so we can pinpoint exactly where your home is leaking, not just how much.
The test takes about 20–30 minutes and generates data that's required for MiHER program submissions, utility rebate programs, new construction code compliance, and post air-sealing verification.
Schedule a Blower Door Test →Michigan's Home Energy Rebates program requires a blower door test before work begins and after air sealing or insulation is complete. We perform both tests and deliver results formatted for program submission.
Michigan requires new residential construction to test at or below 3 ACH50 under the International Energy Conservation Code. We perform the test and issue the documentation your builder needs.
After an insulation or air-sealing project, a post-blower door test confirms the improvement. This verifies the work was done effectively and documents the reduction in leakage for rebate submissions.
As part of a full home energy audit, the blower door runs simultaneously with our thermal camera — so we not only measure total leakage but can show you exactly where it is on an infrared image.
We serve Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties. Standalone tests and full audits available.
